Drivewyze Opens New Sales Office in Dallas, Hires Ken McCann as VP Sales

DALLAS, Sept. 6, 2016 – Drivewyze announces that it has opened a new office in Dallas and has hired Ken McCann as vice president of sales to lead an expanding sales team there.

“We’re tremendously excited about the growth of the Drivewyze weigh station bypass network and customer base,” said Brian Heath, CEO of Drivewyze. “Our investment in the expansion of our sales organization and sales leadership is key to supporting the tremendous response our next generation service is receiving in the marketplace.”

McCann has held successful senior sales leadership positions at Telogis, a web-based fleet tracking and management solution, GreenRoad, a driver and fleet performance measurement and management platform, and Fleetmatics, a fleet management service provider.

“Ken has established an excellent reputation in the industry by developing and maintaining strong relationships with trucking carrier executives and by recruiting and leading high-performance sales teams for high-growth companies,” Heath said. “We’re looking forward to Ken’s leadership in helping serve the growing demand of fleets seeking improvements in driver recruitment and retention, productivity, and fuel cost savings through the Drivewyze weigh station bypass service.”

Heath said Drivewyze has already hired a new Dallas-based team of sales representatives and sales team leaders to staff the new office, and is expecting this office to continue to grow alongside Drivewyze’s expanding customer base.

“Dallas is an ideal geographic location for the new office since it is on major north-south and east-west transportation corridors,” Heath said. “This new location will also place our expanding sales team closer to the headquarters of many truck carriers located in the South.”

Since its launch in 2012, Drivewyze has grown its PreClear bypass service to be the largest service network in the industry, providing bypass opportunities at more than 600 locations in 36 states. Drivewyze’s growth has accelerated as increasing numbers of individual drivers and some of the industry’s largest carriers have chosen to adopt Drivewyze’s industry-leading service.

More companies are adding the PreClear service because the Drivewyze network has grown by almost 50 percent in just the past 18 months, adding nearly 200 locations, many of them in states that had previously adopted the weigh station bypass service, Heath said.

“These additional locations demonstrate to carriers the greater value Drivewyze can offer over transponder-based services,” Heath added. “More locations mean that bypass services are becoming relevant to a growing portion of the trucking industry. Traditional transponder-based sites are limited from providing full coverage due to high costs, which necessarily restricts the value of bypass services for the majority of trucking companies. This is why bypass services had a market penetration of less than 12 percent before Drivewyze was introduced. Drivewyze now provides services to many previously underserved locations, including low-volume, local, regional and even mobile inspection sites. This changes the economics of bypass from catering to a small percentage of the industry to serving the needs of the larger population.”

McCann said he’s excited about the sales momentum Drivewyze has achieved through the previous 12 months.

“Fleets recognize that with so many more weigh station locations now offering Drivewyze weigh station bypass, more drivers are realizing significant reductions in weigh station delays,” McCann said. “These reductions not only decrease the carriers’ operating costs, but also returns more driving time to drivers.

“As a result, Drivewyze becomes not only a tool to reduce operating costs, but also a way for fleets to retain drivers because it can help them put more money in their drivers’ pockets, reduce their stress levels on the road and get them home sooner,” McCann added.
