About the Role:
Your mission will be to create and enhance Drivewyze applications to meet the needs of our customers as part of a talented team of Software Developers, QA, Product Managers, and other internal partners. As a developer, you will be involved in the design and development of projects targeting mobile devices, as well as building on and expanding the Drivewyze platform. You will also be working on initiatives that directly impact/serve the mobile application. These include the development of back-end services (APIs), continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), monitoring, security improvements, and architectural changes.

Report to: Software Development Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a Flutter cross-platform mobile application providing location-based services to our commercial trucking customers. The application leverages native Android and iOS capabilities where necessary.
- Development of back-end services and APIs that serve our mobile applications, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support other related native Android and/or iOS mobile applications.
- Work alongside QA team members to develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
- Monitoring of application performance in the field. Work with Tech Services to quickly resolve field issues.
- Working your agile scrum team (including PM + UX) to identify, develop and refine user stories that meet business requirements.
- Participate in code reviews.
What you bring:
- 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining mobile apps.
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, computer engineering or related degree, diploma, and/or applicable work experience.
- You love solving problems, are motivated and methodical, and have high attention to detail.
The ideal candidate has experience with the following:
- Android development (Kotlin/Java) with in-depth knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines, Content Provider, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, Job Scheduler, Android Service and App lifecycle events.
- Cross-platform development using Flutter (plus points for experience writing native-bridge modules/plugins)
- Design patterns such as MVVM, Singleton, Listener, Flutter BLoC, Provider etc.
- Android dependency injection with Dagger and Hilt.
- Unit-testing in both Flutter and Android.
- Location APIs (i.e. CoreLocation and/or Fused Location Provider).
- In-App Payment APIs (Android/iOS).
- Integrating 3rd party libraries and SDK’s
- Backend development with Python
- CI/CD pipelines to build and deploy apps (plus points for experience with Fastlane and Firebase App Distribution)
- Working with standard Software Development tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence etc.
- Working with embedded user analytics tools (e.g. Segment, MixPanel, etc.)
Bonus if you have experience with:
- Building RESTful APIs using Django.
- iOS development (Swift)
- Authentication using Google/Apple Sign In.
- Writing native-bridge modules/plugins for Flutter.
- Programming in LISP.
