Mesilla Valley Transportation Talks About the Value of Weigh Station Bypass in CCJ
April 30, 2020
In a story posted by CCJ magazine, Mike Kelley, Mesilla Valley’s chief technology officer’s quote says it all: “This (weigh station bypass) is a low-hanging fruit when it comes to improving fuel efficiency and improving delivery time. We feel weigh station bypass is a win for us, and a win for our drivers who get to pull more miles.”
Mesilla Valley (MVT) is well known for being an industry leader when it comes to proving out, then implementing technology. It’s one reason its fleet of nearly 1,600 power units averages 9 mpg. That’s not a typo!
For MVT, each truck averages 16 bypasses per month, and Mike says: “The time savings alone – with the advent of ELDs and the clock ticking on drivers — makes bypass even more important. Drivers appreciate Drivewyze PreClear. We’ll hear about it if a new truck isn’t immediately turned on with Drivewyze.”
