FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EDMONTON, Alberta, Jan. 22, 2014 – Drivewyze Inc., and its sister company, Intelligent Imaging Systems Inc. (IIS), have announced the appointment of Wayne Malkin as chief technology officer. Malkin was previously a partner and consultant for Edmonton, Alberta-based Insight Fool, a software development consulting service. Prior to Insight Fool, he was senior manager at IBM’s Edmonton software development lab.
“We’re pleased to have Wayne Malkin on our company’s team as we continue our rapid expansion across North America,” said Brian Heath, CEO of Drivewyze and Intelligent Imaging Systems. “Drivewyze has made significant progress in expanding a mobile-based application targeting the transportation industry. In the past two years, we’ve added several states to the Drivewyze Pre-Clear bypass service. We’ve increased revenues by 40 percent. And we successfully acquired a $7.5 million round of funding led by Emergence Capital Partners and iNovia Capital.
“Having a senior leader of Malkin’s caliber to oversee the development and long-term planning of our company’s technology architecture will greatly enhance the value proposition of our Drivewzye PreClear bypass service,” Heath added. “His work will also enhance the value proposition of IIS equipment and software services for transportation and law enforcement agencies. Malkin will also help us with developing and introducing new innovative breakthroughs for electronic inspections by leading our talented software development team at Drivewyze.”
Malkin said he’s excited about the rapid adoption of the Drivewzye PreClear service and IIS advanced systems for transportation and law enforcement agencies.
“The Drivewyze team’s customer-focused approach to the design and implementation of the company’s software systems allows the inspection site bypass to work intuitively for users on a variety of platforms,” he said. “I hope to enhance the Drivewyze team’s efforts with my experience and knowledge in developing electronic forms and advanced case management tools and enterprise software for highly scalable and reliable global products on a variety of operating system environments.”
Drivewyze is an innovative technology service provider offering local and long-haul carriers with weigh station and inspection site bypass opportunities at both fixed weigh stations and roadside mobile inspection sites.
Drivewyze leverages cellular networks and the internet to add transponder-like functionality to tablets, smartphones and select electronic on-board recorders like those offered by PeopleNet, Zonar and XRS. Unlike traditional methods that use dedicated short-range communication transponders in every truck, Drivewyze doesn’t require the installation of additional equipment.
Its sister company, IIS, has been a provider of road safety equipment and software services since 2003. As a supplier and integrator of advanced imaging systems, IIS provides transportation and law enforcement agencies with advanced tools in an effort to make the goals of safety more efficient and effective.
