How does Drivewyze work with ELDs?

Drivewyze is designed to work seamlessly with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), leveraging existing in-cab technology to deliver weigh station bypass notifications, real-time safety alerts, and connected truck services without requiring additional hardware installations. By integrating with most major ELD platforms, Drivewyze simplifies deployment for fleets and provides drivers with vital safety and compliance information through familiar interfaces.

Here’s how Drivewyze works with ELDs:

  • Seamless Integration: Drivewyze partners with leading ELD providers—including Geotab, Omnitracs, Trimble, Verizon Connect, Motive (formerly KeepTruckin), Samsara, and others—to integrate services directly into the ELD platform. This integration ensures that Drivewyze’s weigh station bypass notifications and safety alerts are delivered through the same in-cab display drivers already use for hours-of-service (HOS) tracking and other compliance functions.
  • No Additional Hardware: Unlike traditional bypass systems that require transponders or other equipment, Drivewyze operates entirely through software. Once activated, the service uses the ELD’s cellular connection and GPS data to provide real-time alerts as vehicles approach participating weigh stations, inspection sites, high-risk road areas, and sudden traffic slowdowns.
  • Real-Time Notifications: As a vehicle approaches a participating weigh station, the ELD receives a notification indicating whether the truck is cleared to bypass or required to pull in for inspection. In addition, drivers receive safety alerts for hazards such as steep grades, rollover zones, high-wind areas, and upcoming inspection sites—all displayed through the ELD interface.
  • Fleet-Wide Management: Fleet managers can activate Drivewyze services across all vehicles equipped with supported ELDs, providing a consistent, scalable solution for fleets of any size. Drivewyze’s data reporting tools integrate with fleet management portals, offering insights into bypass rates, safety trends, and driver behavior.
  • Mobile App Option: For fleets or drivers using ELDs that are not currently Drivewyze partners, services can still be accessed through the Drivewyze mobile app, ensuring flexibility for different operational setups.

In short, Drivewyze works with ELDs to deliver safety and compliance services efficiently, eliminating hardware costs, simplifying deployment, and keeping fleets moving safely and compliantly.
