New Integration Allows Transportation Agencies to Issue Real-Time Emergency Alerts to Commercial Drivers
ALBANY, N.Y. and PENNSAUKEN, N.J., April 2, 2025 – Drivewyze by Fleetworthy, a leader in connected truck services, and Information Logistics, Inc. (ILOG), a leader in advanced traveler information and alerting solutions, have announced a new integration that allows transportation agencies to issue emergency alerts to commercial truck drivers.
The new partnership will integrate ILOG’s Highway Emergency Linked Platform (HELP) Alerts system with Drivewyze’s Smart Roadways product to deliver in-cab emergency alerts to commercial truck drivers. This enables transportation agencies to manage emergency alerts more efficiently through a unified platform that provides critical safety information to commercial vehicles and the general public. When an emergency warrants a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) to the public through ILOG’s HELP Alerts system, the same emergency information can now be automatically shared with commercial vehicles approaching the affected area via Drivewyze Smart Roadways in-cab alerts. The integrated offering is free of charge for agencies that use both ILOG’s HELP Alerts platform and Drivewyze Smart Roadways.
ILOG’s HELP Alerts system can notify the public of upcoming major highway incidents and closures, HAZMAT situations, fatal accidents, extreme weather and flooded roadways, evacuation notices for natural disasters, and more. This is an app-free process where those in the affected area receive a WEA notification on their phones and may opt-in for SMS text communications directly with the agency.
“HELP Alerts will provide truckers with essential, real-time updates, empowering them to make informed choices during emergencies.”
Brian Taylor
Vice President of Sales, Fleetworthy
“Our Smart Roadways product is dedicated to enhancing safety and efficiency for commercial drivers and fleets,” said Brian Taylor, Fleetworthy Vice President of Sales – Infrastructure Services. “HELP Alerts will provide truckers with essential, real-time updates, empowering them to make informed choices during emergencies.”
Agencies can disseminate real-time notifications and create geofences near a hazard, warning vehicles to avoid the area. With these safety alerts, fleets can better manage route adjustments, and drivers can stay informed of active roadway conditions, incidents, and events for safer, more efficient travel.
“HELP Alerts are designed to make highways safer by improving communication in moments of crisis when every minute counts,” said Beth Abruscato, President of ILOG. “With its simplicity and speed, the HELP Alerts system now helps agencies to directly inform truckers quickly, equipping drivers with the essential information they need to navigate safely during emergencies.”
