Staying Ahead of the Storm

Over 20% of crashes in the United States are caused by weather each year. Does your team have the tools it needs to mitigate that risk and keep drivers safe en route?

Find out why fleets like C.R. England “can’t recommend Safety+ enough,” and learn how to mitigate weather-related risk in your operations. During the webinar industry leaders will discuss how:

  • Weather impacts operations, expenses, and insurance,
  • Safety Management can mitigate weather-related risk, and how
  • Proactive, in-cab alerts can support drivers en route.

Speakers:

  • Andrew Diesel, Sales Director, Safety Solutions, Drivewyze Inc.
  • Brian Runnels, Vice President of Safety, Reliance Partners

Secrets Behind the Weigh Station

Ever wonder what happens when a truck pulls into a weigh station? You might be surprised at what goes on at a modern weigh station, and the role technology plays in evaluating your trucks. Thermal cameras scan for bad brakes and sheared bolts as trucks pull in, automated license plate and Haz-Mat sticker readers run checks against state and federal databases. And behind it all, law enforcement personnel in the station manage complex systems to triage and sort trucks, trying to make the best use of limited resources in efforts to maximize public safety.

If you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a scale, watch this webinar to hear firsthand, from a veteran law enforcement safety officer and Drivewyze expert, about current roadside inspection methods — and why it is that some trucks get pulled in while others get waived through, or bypass the scales completely.

Speakers:

  • Brian Mofford, Vice President of Government Experience, Drivewyze
  • Doug Hatch, TxDPS Captain (retired)

Driving Your Fleet Towards Idle Reduction

Idle time, whether it’s time spent waiting to load or unload a shipment or in a scale house line up, has significant impacts on your fleet operations. It increases the carbon emissions produced by your fleet, quietly consumes your fuel and personnel budgets, reduces operational efficiencies, and creates bottlenecks along your drivers’ routes. According to SmartWay, a partner of the US EPA, if each driver in a 25-truck fleet idled for only two hours, that fleet would burn 40 gallons of diesel each day, at a cost of over $46,000/year.

With rising fuel costs and increased environmental regulations proving to be challenges for the fleet industry, idle management is key – but where do you start?

In this expert roundtable webinar, Driving Your Fleets Towards Idle Reduction, presented by Drivewyze, you’ll hear directly from one of today’s most innovative fleets on the strategies they are implementing are helping them bypass traditional hurdles that increase or require idling. Plus, hear from leading technology experts about the idle-time reduction services available to you in-cab that you may be overlooking.

Speakers:

  • Stephen Petit, Partner, SiefkesPetit Communications (Moderator)
  • Sara Steele, Product Manager and Director of Compliance, Drivewyze
  • Ray LaPrade, Vice President of Information Technology, CalArk International
  • Dave Schaller, Industry Engagement Director, NACFE

Improving Driver Safety with In-Cab Hazard-Based Alerts

Hundreds of thousands of commercial vehicles travel across the United States each and every day, operated by drivers who are focused on continuously changing road conditions and other driving tasks, all of which may cause them to miss critical road sign information.

In this presentation, you’ll see first-hand how GPS hazard-based alerts in the cab are effectively reducing preventable accidents and learn:

  • The true impact risky driving conditions and driver behaviors have on overall driver safety,
  • How one of North America’s largest fleets significantly improved driver safety over the course of a multi-year pilot, and
  • The tangible ways in which GPS hazard-based warnings are improving driver behaviors and overall safety.

Speakers:

  • Brian Mofford, Vice President of Government Experience, Drivewyze

Preparing for the Connected Truck Future

“Connected truck” technology poses a great deal of opportunity for the freight industry. From enhanced safety to compliance and efficiency, the benefits of the technology are certainly too great to ignore, and in fact, enforcement and compliance organizations are already getting prepared. It isn’t a far-flung future concept…it’s already here. The question is: Are you ready for it?

To discuss the steps that are being taken by state and federal agencies and how they are looking to leverage an always-connected transportation system, FreightWaves partnered with Drivewyze to present this hour-long webinar. From smart truck parking solutions and real-time safety notifications to freight performance optimization and electronic inspections, learn about the ways that local, state and federal governments are getting ready to utilize the connected truck for enhanced safety and performance.

Speakers:

  • Brian Mofford, Vice President of Government Experience, Drivewyze
  • Charles Buffone, Director of Product Management, Drivewyze

Commercial Truck Pre-Screening and Pre-Clearance in Ontario

In an effort to improve safety and productivity in Ontario, the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) has recently implemented new inspection pre-screening systems and a new inspection station pre-clearance service (Drivewyze PreClear) in Ontario. These new technologies screen commercial vehicles driving through Ontario for safety defects and over-weight loads as they approach an inspection station, and also provide the opportunity for commercial vehicles to bypass inspection stations – which means trucks can stay on the mainline, without having to pull-in.

In this webinar, our speakers will explain:

  • Which pre-screening technologies are deployed at inspection sites in Ontario, & how they improve safety
  • How the Drivewyze pre-clearance technology works, and if your fleet is eligible to participate
  • How pre-clearance can help you increase efficiency, save money, and keep drivers happy

Speakers:

  • Chris Davies, Manager, Carrier Enforcement Program Office with the Ministry of Transportation
  • Doug Johnson, VP of Marketing, Drivewyze
